Is it normal to get a stuffy nose every time you drink alcohol? I mean…having the sniffles isn’t a huge price to pay in exchange for delicious margaritas, but it is a little annoying to get all stopped up every time I drink (no matter what type of booze it is!).
Does this happen to anyone else out there? Tips/tricks?

Yup! I get the stuffy nose and sometimes cough too. Seconding the person who suggested antihistamines — apparently alcohol can cause your body to flood with histamines, and some people lack the ALDH enzymes that break them down.

Yes! I currently have the booze sniffles myself! It’s usually certain types of wine (usually red), hoppy beers, and occasionally alcohol too (like margs and mixed drinks). I think it only came on in the past couple of years (27, 28 y.o.). Booooo.

This is totally a thing! I think you can take an antihistamine before drinking and it should help.
