Day 7: Button
I remember when I got my very first iPod (in 2004? 2005?) and I was so excited to use it that I just grabbed it out of the box without reading the instructions and started pressing the big round button up and down, side to side, completely confounded at why it would not navigate the way I wanted it to. It took several minutes of frustration before I declared “THIS MUST BE BROKEN” …then I finally gave in and read the instructions and had my mind blown when I realized that you just had to lightly move your finger around the circle instead of clicking it like a button.
And that, boys and girls, is the first time your grandma encountered a touchpad.
(I like the looks I get at the gym when I dig this out and set it on the treadmill. Yeah, I’m still using it! Yeah, it works great! Yeah, I have a workout playlist mostly consisting of nothing but Lil Wayne, Beyonce, and Avril Lavigne! Proooooblem?)

When I got my iPhone, I spent at least 15 minutes trying to figure out how to turn it on.
