The dean of our college just called and asked if someone in our office would like his (COURTSIDE!) tickets to tonight’s UK/FL game. Since I got them last time he offered, I decided to be polite and offer them to the other people in my office (even though nobody else here is really that crazy about basketball)…kind of expecting that no one else would want them.
But then the coworker I least expected to respond surprised me by saying she’d take them. And now I am regretting being polite.
At least I have plans to make a delicious dinner that we can eat while watching the game from home like peons.

You forgot to add “while feeling morally superior” to your plans for tonight. I’ve been told that nice people like you get to do that…
